Join Our Team at Northeastern Vermont Regional HospitalMake a meaningful impact in your community at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH), where your compassionate care and attention to detail help create a safe, supportive experience for patients undergoing surgical and procedural care.About This RoleAs a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) in the Day Surgery Unit (DSU), you will provide direct patient care and operational support across Day Surgery, Pain Management, and associated ambulatory areas. This unique role combines hands-on patient care with administrative and workflow support responsibilities, helping to ensure efficient operations and an exceptional patient experience throughout the perioperative journey.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide patient-centered care by assisting with activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, supporting discharge activities, and reporting changes in patient condition to licensed staff.Support clinical and procedural operations by preparing patient care areas, maintaining supplies and equipment, assisting with room turnover, and supporting nursing staff during procedures.Assist with administrative functions including patient registration, appointment coordination, referral management, insurance authorizations, phone communications, and documentation within electronic systems.Promote efficient patient flow by supporting care coordination, maintaining supply inventory, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to a positive patient experience.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Current Vermont Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) license required.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred SkillsExperience using computers and electronic health record systems.Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
