Security Analyst

Position: Security Analyst 1


Location: Austin, TX 78701


Duration: 7+ years

All work products resulting from the project shall be considered "works made for hire" and are the property of the TEA. TEA may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Workers) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by the Texas law. TEA will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Worker(s).
• Worker will perform highly complex (senior-level) security and business analysis work.
• Worker will document the existing Information Security processes and procedures.
• Worker will identify gaps and recommend improvements to Information Security processes and procedures.
• Worker will estimate project timeline to complete all tasks.
• Worker will provide weekly status reporting.
• Position requires independent judgement and initiative.


II. Worker Skills And Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:


Years Skills/Experience


4 Experience in planning and documenting all security information in the company including physical and internet security.


4 Experience conducting security Strengths, Weaknesses Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) and gap analysis for software, legislative and regulatory compliance requirements.


4 Experience creating standard operating procedures adhering to security policies


4 Experience in Business and Data Analysis, Data Profiling and Metadata Management Services.


4 Experience searching and analyzing data to create reports using tools such as Crystal reports, Cognos and HTML.


4 Experience working with security teams and documenting security application systems, as well as analyzing and documenting security processes.


4 Excellent written and oral communication skills with all management and staff levels.


3 Experience with security testing for application validation, data validation, data mapping and back end report testing using tools such as SQL, Informatica, XML and Visio.


3 Experience documenting operational and training materials and other documentation to create improvements in security processes.


3 Proven ability to work successfully with technical and non-technical groups, and ability to manage and organize time to complete multiple responsibilities.


3 Experience estimating and developing project plans and timelines

4 Public Sector experience


2 Experience in Database concepts including Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), Meta data, Data Marts, Fact/Dimension Tables, and Dimensional Modeling, Joins, Views and other for analysis and reporting. Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business Analysis, or similar. Commensurate experience may be substituted for degree.
