Part-time Café Staff

Hiring Department Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopment Job Description We are seeking friendly, reliable Café Staff to join our team. Our café is part of an initiative to create inclusive employment opportunities and provide supportive, hands‑on job training for individuals entering the workforce, including those with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate is customer‑focused, works well in a fast paced environment, and takes pride in providing high quality food, beverages, and service. Café Staff are responsible for creating a welcoming experience for every guest while maintaining cleanliness, efficiency, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Greet customers and take food and beverage orders accurately Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other beverages Prepare simple food items following café recipes and standards Operate the point of sale system and handle transactions accurately Maintain cleanliness of the café, including counters, equipment, dining area, and restrooms Restock supplies and assist with opening and closing duties Follow health, safety, and food handling regulations Address customer questions, requests, or concerns professionally Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations Shift Part‑time 10 – 25 hours per week Business hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of work experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast paced environment Dependable, punctual, and team oriented Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range: $18.00 - $22.00 hourly Grade: GGS - 006 University Title: RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE Internal applicants can determine their university title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
