Weekend Registered Respiratory Therapist II - NICU Only @ Cobb Hospital

Shift Details Night shift in the United States of America. NICU Only / Weekend Option / Nights / Full-Time. Responsibilities Provides customer service, completing patient care, documentation and education. Promotes a team approach, a spirit of teamwork, and a positive work environment. Provides a supportive environment for students and staff. Administers quality patient care by performing patient assessments for therapy. Collaborates with healthcare team members in planning patient care. Verifies orders and administers aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, and oxygen medical gas therapy. Manages ventilators, including weaning, waveform interpretation, intubation, extubation, trach tube change and care. Performs arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. Educates patients and mentors/precepts new employees, students, and peers. Assists with invasive and non‑invasive procedures, cardiac service procedures, and pulmonary diagnostic testing. Promotes current and accurate electronic orders, charting, and charging. Promotes high levels of patient safety (Medication Safety, NPSG, etc.). Promotes performance improvement initiatives designed to promote quality care. Promotes evidence‑based practice. Reviews revised and new DPPs. Education Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science. Associate’s Degree (A.S.) required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Certifications Registered Respiratory Therapist 1.00 Respiratory Care Professional 2.00 Basic Life Support (BLS) 3.00 BLS Instructor 3.00 BLS Provisional 3.00 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) 4.00 ACLS Instructor 4.00 ACLS Provisional 4.00 Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) 5.00 PALS Instructor 5.00 PALS Provisional 5.00 Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) 6.00 NRP Instructor 6.00 NRP Provisional 6.00 Experience 0-2 years of clinical experience with a minimum of 6 months in critical care. Skills Ability to communicate well. Critical thinking skills. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
