Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / Electrophysiology (EP) Lab

Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 5×8-Hour Shifts (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM) | Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and circulate roles during EP Lab procedures including Watchman, Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Closure, Pacemaker Insertion, lead extraction/removal, and Right Heart Catheterization
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation; manage antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, reversal agents, and emergency medications
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG; monitor and manage dysrhythmias and arrhythmia induction
• Perform and assist with vascular access including PICC lines, implanted ports, central line insertion/management, sheath removal, and topical hemostasis techniques
• Monitor Activated Clotting Time (ACT), End-Tidal CO2, and external compression devices; adhere to radiation and laser safety protocols
• Document clinical care using EPIC; adhere to infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and pressure ulcer assessment/prevention standards

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — pending licensure is not accepted; both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license covering both states) must be held at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of EP Lab or Cardiac Cath Lab experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Scrub experience required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Tilt Table Studies, Paracentesis, Hypothermia Protocol, and Malignant Hyperthermia Protocol
• Familiarity with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and laser-assisted procedures
• Prior experience charting in EPIC, including completion of EPIC test-out or module training
• Experience with blood product administration and IV infusion pump management
