Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
• Certification or relevant credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Prior experience in school-based or educational settings preferred
• Ability to accurately interpret verbal and signed communication in various classroom activities
• Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility working with students, educators, and families

Responsibilities Include:

• Interpreting classroom instruction, discussions, presentations, and activities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Facilitating effective and accurate communication between students and other members of the school community
• Supporting students’ understanding of lesson material, classroom expectations, and social interactions
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Collaborating with educators to adapt communication strategies as needed for individual student needs
• Assisting with additional duties related to student accessibility and inclusion as assigned
