Project Manager

Position Overview The Project Manager coordinates the implementation of TASFRL programs and initiatives by managing day‑to‑day project operations, coordinating partners and contractors, monitoring deliverables, and supporting landowner services. This role works closely with TASFRL leadership, partners, contractors, and land stewards to ensure projects are executed effectively and aligned with organizational priorities. The Project Manager supports field‑based initiatives related to land stewardship, conservation, and agricultural resilience. Reports to: Managing Director Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Management Manage day‑to‑day coordination and implementation of TASFRL projects and initiatives. Track project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and outcomes across multiple programs. Coordinate contractors and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines. Maintain project documentation, reporting systems, and internal project tracking. Assist leadership with project planning, scheduling, and operational coordination. Support development and coordination of TASFRL youth education initiatives, including K–12 programs, workshops, demonstrations, and field‑based learning activities. Coordinate with schools, youth organizations, and educational partners while tracking participation and program outcomes. Partner & Stakeholder Coordination Coordinate collaboration with project partners, community organizations, and institutional stakeholders. Facilitate communication among TASFRL leadership, contractors, partners, and program participants. Organize meetings, working groups, and partner communications supporting agriculture, forestry, and conservation initiatives. Landowner & Program Support Support services connecting farmers, ranchers, and land stewards with conservation resources and technical assistance. Coordinate landowner outreach activities, site visits, and engagement events. Maintain follow‑up and communication with participating landowners. Support coordination of Land Management Services (LMS) activities assisting landowners with conservation and regenerative land management practices. Monitoring, Reporting & Grant Support Monitor project deliverables and track progress toward program outcomes. Maintain documentation and internal reporting for project activities. Assist with grant reporting, partner updates, and program documentation. Support project budgeting and tracking of funded activities. Technology & Field Program Coordination Coordinate field‑based initiatives involving regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, and land stewardship. Support field demonstrations, drone‑supported operations, and precision agriculture technologies. Coordinate with field teams and technical contractors supporting program implementation. First 90 Days Focus Become familiar with TASFRL programs and SFLR Network priorities. Establish project tracking systems for active initiatives. Begin coordinating contractor activities and partner communications. Support implementation of ongoing TASFRL projects and LMS‑related landowner engagement. Coordinate with CEFS staff on field‑based implementation activities. Assist with planning youth education initiatives supporting K–12 engagement in agriculture, forestry, and land stewardship. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Degree or equivalent experience in program management, agriculture, forestry, environmental studies, community development, or a related field. Experience managing or coordinating projects or programs in nonprofit, agriculture, conservation, or community‑based settings. Strong organizational and project coordination skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple initiatives and coordinate across contractors and partners. Ability and willingness to travel frequently to rural and agricultural communities. Preferred Qualifications Background in program management, forestry, agriculture, conservation, agroecology, or environmental justice. Experience working with farmers, ranchers, or land stewardship initiatives. Familiarity with USDA, NRCS, or conservation programs. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credential. Experience working with precision agriculture technologies, drone‑supported field operations, or land management demonstrations. Bilingual communication skills (Spanish or Vietnamese preferred but not required). Work Structure Hybrid schedule (combination of remote work and field/community engagement). Independent contractor (1099) engagement with potential transition to full‑time employment based on organizational needs and funding. Travel Requirements Frequent travel throughout Texas, including rural and agricultural communities statewide. Compensation Compensation commensurate with experience.
