Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Managed Care is hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for Infection Control at the Robertson Unit. This Monday- Friday position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive nursing care in a structured clinical setting At TTUHSC, our LVN's are vital members of a multidisciplinary team, providing safe, compassionate, and clinically competent care within a correctional healthcare setting. About the Robertson Unit The Robertson Unit offers a dynamic clinical environment where RNs play a critical role in the management and coordination of patient care within the infirmary setting. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care, monitoring patient conditions, coordinating treatment plans, and collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality healthcare delivery. What You’ll Do: Conduct employee tuberculosis (TB) testing and follow-up as needed. Perform inmate TB screening, testing, and related documentation. Provide occupational exposure counseling and testing for employees of TDCJ and Correctional Managed Health Care. Coordinate and manage sexual assault evaluations, including counseling, laboratory testing, and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) treatment for both victims and alleged assailants. Oversee the management and follow-up of offender bloodborne pathogen exposures. Administer and coordinate immunization programs for inmate populations. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical records and documentation for all testing, treatment, counseling, and immunization activities. Ensure adherence to applicable clinical protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements. Graduated from an accredited nursing program. New graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) on the first attempt.
