Job Title: Registered Nurse – Residential Services

Location: CP Rochester – Rochester, NY

Annual Salary: $65,000 – $78,000 commensurate with experience

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time 40 hours a week position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during business hours. Evening work may be required on rare occasions as job duties demand.

Requirements

1. Must be licensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse by the New York State
2. Department of Education.
3. Bachelors of Science degree in nursing preferred.
4. Specialized training and one-year experience in treating the developmentally disabled desirable.
5. Valid NYS driver’s license.

Summary/Objective: Provides clinical guidance to staff responsible for the health, medical and safety needs of the individuals we serve while acting as a liaison with external service providers. Interacts regularly with other nursing staff, department directors and direct care staff.

Essential Functions

1. Imparts agency philosophy of “Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential” to children, families, program staff and community resources.
2. Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
3. Provides nursing assessments and develops treatment plans to meet individuals medical/health needs.
4. Implements and/or monitors treatment plans to address medical/health needs and ensures completion of treatment plans and medical supplies availability.
5. Provides information and referral to primary physician, consultants, and other medical specialists as needed. Communicates necessary information to individuals, families, staff, and service providers as appropriate in a timely manner.
6. Provides or oversees the provision of nursing care and follow-up illness and injuries with referral to the physician as necessary. Assists with individuals’ emergencies.
7. Provides documentation and notification of individuals concerns regarding health and safety.
8. Develops, monitors, and/or assures established infection control procedures are current and followed.
9. Attends and participates in meetings when assigned.
10. Documents medical information as defined by agency, regulatory bodies, and professional standards of care.
11. Provides clinical oversight to staff responsible for medical/health treatment plan implementation.
12. Adheres to agency, regulatory bodies and professional policies, procedures, and standards of care.
13. Supports agency’s employee training, health, safety, and/or clinical activities.
14. Instructs the Medication Administration Course for agency employees.
15. Achieves program goals by performing other responsibilities as required.
16. Maintains all required trainings.
17. Participates on agency work teams/committees as requested.
18. Assists in nursing coverage throughout the agency.
19. Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.
20. Adheres to agency’s policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.

The employee frequently is required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to occasionally push or pull individuals in wheel chairs up to 300 pounds.

Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, but employee may be expected to work at any of our partner agencies. Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, internal equity, and location.
