Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) functions in an assistive role in the provisions of patient care services through regular assignments or delegated tasks and is supervised by the RN. The CNA demonstrates the ability to carry out specific tasks with reasonable skill and safety that adheres to the prevailing standard of practice in the nursing community.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide care according to Physician's orders, Plan of Care, and Home Health Aide Assignment Sheet.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, patient care, exercises, and changes in condition.
  • Assist patients with mobility, bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, errands, and light housekeeping as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate patient observations or concerns to the RN Case Manager or supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the patient, Physician, and healthcare team.
  • Attend required meetings, training, and agency activities.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and conduct.
  • Arrive on time and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Support the company's mission, values, and goals.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved CNA program or accredited educational program.
  • Current, unencumbered state CNA certification.
  • Required professional experience per state regulations.
  • Pass required screening/competency testing with a score of 80% or higher.
  • Current TB test results or chest X-ray.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Flexible, organized, and able to exercise sound judgment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, reach, and perform other duties required for client care.
  • Vision and hearing within normal limits, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 15 lbs. and occasionally 100 lbs. or more, when required.
  • Ability to safely provide the physical assistance needed for client care and notify a supervisor when assistance exceeds safe limits.
