Post Award Finance Analyst

Job Summary Under the general direction of the leadership, the incumbent is responsible for the independent management and administration of a portfolio of contracts and grants with a primary emphasis on post‑award administration of clinical trials. The role includes developing and overseeing research awards, managing grant and contract records, conducting financial reporting, budgeting, and serving as subject matter expert for pre‑award submissions. Key Responsibilities Post award grant management (60%) Pre‑award grant management (35%) Effort reporting, progress reports and grant cost recovery (5%) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Health Administration or related field of study and/or equivalent experience/training. Experience performing complex financial analysis and customized reporting. Experience managing significant volume of transactions in a fast‑paced environment. Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines of Federal and non‑Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably in a university environment. Thorough knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc. Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports. Skills to maintain independent judgment; strong organization and communication skills; and a customer service focus across broad and diverse subject areas. Current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles. Preferred Qualifications Completion of UC Davis Research Administration Certificate Series program. Knowledge of UC Davis Systems including Aggie Enterprise, Aggie Expense, Oncore, UC Path, Cognos.
