To provide small group and/or individual instruction in academic content areas. To provide assistance as needed in non-academic areas such as graduation rate, behavior and attendance.

The Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences is a Paideia-focused magnet school that serves grades K-12, with our lower school comprised of grades K-5. We value family involvement, ongoing teacher learning, and collaboration. We encourage our teachers to take advantage of PD opportunities, which are differentiated and specific in order to ensure that our diverse students have what they need to be educated and engaged citizens of the world. In 2019, we were designated as a Reward School by the state of Tennessee, and we work each day to exceed state expectations!

As a teacher at CSAS, you will work hard but the work is rewarding. Our reward is seen in individual and school successes, and we see our kindergarteners grow up and graduate! Responsibilities

• Provides supplemental instruction and support to selected students.
• Attends training in the appropriate model(s) implemented in the school.
• Keeps accurate records of student work and academic support provided.
• Provides classroom teacher(s) and/or administration with regular progress reports on students.
• Follows established procedures to ensure assigned areas are safe.
• Works collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff.
• Attends work and arrives to work on time.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.
• Complies with accounting and financial policies and procedures involving the handling of money and property, as well as other Board policies.
• Uses computers and other technology to enter and access information related to essential job functions.
• May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities for content area(s) to be addressed.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students and staff.

Compensation: $20/hr
