Elementary Cook And Breakfast Helper Location: Center Line Public Schools Salary: $13.74 - $14.43/hour - In accordance with the AFSCME Local 2722 Master Agreement Reports To: Director of Food Service Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Complete a personnel/criminal records check. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations (i.e. lifting, bending, reaching, counting money/making change, operating computer/POS system, etc.). Ability to cooperate and work collaboratively with team members at all levels and positions. Ability to communicate positively with every student. Primary Function: A working staff position involving the preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch meals. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all duties assigned to him/her by the Food Service Director and as follows: Maintain regular attendance and punctuality for the purpose of ensuring efficient delivery of services to the District. Cooks food, prepared and/or from scratch, for the purpose of meeting mandated requirements and/or projected meal requirements. Responsible for following all health Department/HACCP rules and regulations. Supervises food service workers (e.g. orients, trains, etc.) for the purposes of maximizing the productivity of the work force, providing adequate coverage and ensuring compliance with health, safety and nutritional standards. Evaluates prepared foods for flavor, appearance and temperature for the purpose of providing items that will be accepted by students. Responds to inquiries of students, staff and the public for the purpose of providing information regarding meals. Respectful to others, including students, at all times. Responsible for cleanliness in kitchen in regards to person, equipment and supplies. Responsible for an accurate monthly inventory. Responsible for completing Daily Food Production Records. Responsible for requesting food and other kitchen supplies from Immediate Supervisor. Inspects food items and/or supplies for the purpose of verifying quantity and specifications of orders received from vendors. Rotating inventory, as applicable. Report all accidents to Immediate Supervisor. Sign and date invoices. Turn in all invoices and delivery tickets (on day of receipt) to Administration - Food Services Department. Attend educational classes and in-services to attain knowledge needed to meet State and Federal mandates in regards to school lunch requirements. Successful completion and Certification of the "Serve Safe" Food Sanitation Class and/or Food Service Managers Certification Class administered through either the Macomb Intermediate School District or the Macomb County Health Department. Certification must be obtained prior to placement in this position.
