Director, Commercial Strategy and Alliance Management - Oncology

AbbVie

Mettawa, IL

Director-level commercial strategy role at AbbVie supporting oncology franchise development and alliance management. Reports to VP of Franchise A and leads strategic planning, partnership governance, and cross-functional alignment with external collaborators.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business plans incorporating long and short-range strategic planning with finance and leadership
  • Coordinate governance content and staff agendas for franchise leadership team meetings
  • Manage internal communications, cultural initiatives, and townhall events across the franchise
  • Support VP in alliance management interactions, co-commercialization projects, and capability development with partner organizations
  • Lead portfolio management activities, field communications, and asset prioritization for emerging franchise pipeline

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of relevant commercial or strategy experience
  • Proven negotiation and interpersonal skills for partnership development
  • Critical thinking ability for conflict resolution and organizational alignment
  • Familiarity with legal and contractual governance frameworks
  • Experience working with external partners preferred
  • Ability to operate effectively in matrix organizations
  • Strong communication and strategic mediation capabilities
