About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU, Level 1 Trauma experience, 3-6 months travel experience required License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must have EVD experience. Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience. Candidates with less than 2 years of experience may be considered if they have 18 months of Neuro ICU experience. Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting the position. Description: This position requires a candidate with Level 1 Trauma experience. The candidate must have experience with external ventricular drains. All nurses will be expected to complete specific skills assessments and labs during the orientation process. Maintaining sterile techniques is crucial, as any breach may result in termination during skills assessments. The unit consists of critically ill patients with various neuro diagnoses, including craniotomies, brain tumor removals, and complicated spine surgeries. All nurses must be prepared to float to other units as needed. The nurse-to-patient ratio is expected to be 1:2. The unit operates with a focus on providing exceptional care to critically ill patients. All applicants should have a strong background in neuro assessments and critical care principles. Candidates must be able to work weekends and holidays as part of their core staff rotation.
