To provide physical therapy as prescribed by a physician, which can be safely provided in the facility and assisting the physician in evaluating patients by applying diagnostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional abilities test.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services as prescribed by a physician.
- To observe and record activities and findings in the clinical record and report the resident's reaction to the treatment and any changes in the patient's condition.
- Provide instructions to the resident, family members and other health team personnel in care and use of physical therapy devices.
- Determine proper procedures and methods and evaluate results.
- Maintain inventory of materials and supplies for the assigned area of the department/facility.
- Practice Physical Therapy consistent with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred.
- Must possess active State of Florida Physical Therapy license.
- Have supervision and management skills.
- Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written in English. Spanish preferred.
- Basic math skills required.
- Able to operate the necessary equipment.
- Responsible, energetic, punctual, resourceful, very accurate and detail-oriented.
- Flexible as to work schedule. Must be available to work on weekends, holidays & in emergencies.
- Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently AND as a team member.
- Exhibit an enthusiastic and friendly personality that has aptitude for working with a variety of people.
