Personal Banker Associate I – Altamonte Springs, FL General Function: Selected candidates will develop into a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4‑8 week onboarding program that includes rotations in operations and sales & service. The role focuses on using a consultative sales process to identify customers’ or prospects’ financial needs. The Personal Banker I processes teller transactions and works as a member of the platform staff while managing risk and enhancing customer experience. Responsibilities Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs. Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of retail consumer and small‑business products and services, and recommend appropriate solutions using the value proposition. Utilize CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews. Cross‑sell to the existing customer base and engage in outside sales activities such as Membership Advantage presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events. Establish close working relationships with assigned business partners (mortgage, small business, commercial, and investment), referring customers when appropriate. Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, enhancing year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the financial center P&L. Provide guidance to CSRs regarding the sales and referral process. Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor, professionalism, and confidence in answering questions and resolving issues. Maintain confidentiality of business information and follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Follow established policies and procedures while opening or servicing the full range of retail products. Participate in the consumer loan and bank card process, owning sourced loans from application through closing. Assist in the opening or closing process of the financial center or bank mart as directed. Stay current on retail procedures to mitigate fraudulent activity and minimize risk or exposure. Qualifications College degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Preferred experience in the financial industry. Demonstrated comfort with sales activities designed to acquire new consumer households or small‑business customers and/or cross‑sell to existing customers. Proficiency with advanced math functions for analysis of credit and financial information. Professional appearance and strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of retail policies and procedures to make sound judgments. Required S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Working Conditions Normal office environment with extensive computer screen use. Travel within the affiliate for training; flexible scheduling required. Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
