Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications along with combined adult/pediatric ED experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Patient population spans neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Manage all types of diagnoses related to ED presentation, including CVA, ortho-trauma, head injury, and near drowning
• Perform standard ED procedures such as blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Uses Pyxis medication system, MediTech documentation system, and Vocera communication system
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Weekend coverage required every third weekend, with additional shifts as needed and agreed upon
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (NIHSS and TNCC preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration
• Experience interpreting ABGs
• Knowledge of isolation precautions
• Experience with combined adult/pediatric ED settings
• MediTech charting experience preferred
