Job Description The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to pre‑accident condition. The Technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle while contributing to the company’s promise of speed, quality and customer excellence. The role aligns with all team members to achieve the repair facilities KPIs and serves as a dedicated Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group. Key Job Responsibilities Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan. Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers. Hammer out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary. Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage. Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as needed. Replace or repair interior parts as needed. Weld and attach or fit parts, and prep and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified or agreed‑upon paint. Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience Required High‑school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer. Required Skills/Abilities Read job orders and work independently with minimal supervision. Collaborate effectively with other repairers in an auto‑body shop. Understand methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies. Use the required tools for the trade. Other Requirements Work safely in a noisy area with many odors. Lift up to 30 pounds at times. Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions. Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections. Flat‑rate compensation is a performance‑based structure tied to booked hours. If total compensation in a pay period falls below minimum wage, clocked hours are counted with a guarantee of applicable local or state minimum wage, whichever is greater. Compensation is commensurate with skill, education, and experience.
