Job Title: Driver  

Department: Intake/Admissions

Reports to: Admissions Director     

Job Summary:

The driver will transport clients in a comfortable, safe, and timely manner. The driver will be responsible for keeping the vehicle clean and coordinating with the Facility Maintenance Manager regarding vehicle maintenance. The driver will plan each route based on road and traffic conditions. You must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no traffic violations. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip
• Pick up clients from the place and at the time they’ve requested
• Assist clients with loading and unloading their luggage
• Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up to date on road conditions
• Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road construction, as needed
• Answer clients’ questions about the area and local places of interest
• Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders
• Ensure regular car washing and detailing services to maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the car

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in relation to department needs
• Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and written Communication Skills
• Knowledge of State and Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws
• Ability to understand and abide by the Drug Free Workplace Policies
• Ability to complete the Harassment and Discrimination training
• Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder.
• Familiar with community resources, or who in the facility to contact for community resources

Education and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Driver
• A valid driver’s license
• A clean driving record
• Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
• Familiarity with GPS devices
• Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
• Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage
• Flexibility to transport on weekends, evenings, and early mornings
• A polite and professional disposition
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
• A high school diploma

Drivers are on call on their scheduled days to work from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. You may be called outside this time frame on rare occasions.  Position is required to work in indoor and outdoor environments as needed. Potential exposure to aggressive situations. Potential exposure to airborne/blood-borne pathogens and other potentially infectious diseases.
