About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum of two years of Medical/Surgical experience in a large acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience should be within the past year. License: Valid RN License with Primary Source Verification Certifications: AHA BLS and AHA ACLS (if applicable) Must-Have: - Medical/Surgical nursing experience - Physical assessment skills - Medication administration - Wound care and infection control - IV therapy - Post-operative care - Patient education - Telemetry monitoring Description: Duties may include, but are not limited to: Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals. Evaluating medical information and providing direct bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients. Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications. Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs. Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed and interpreting measurements. Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications promptly. Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team. Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care. Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records. Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
