Critical Care Paramedics have an expanded scope of practice allowing them to administer more medications than normal paramedics. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: Must possess current Licensure as required by state where services are being provided WV: Paramedic through the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Nationally registered as Paramedic as required by state board WV: Paramedic through National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (Unless state license is State License Only (SLO)) Mobile Critical Care Paramedic Certification through West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Basic Life Support Certification within 30 days of hire Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) OR Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) Experience Three (3) years’ experience as a Field Paramedic Core Duties and Responsibilities The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.
