Field Payroll CBA Specialist

Field Payroll CBA Specialist Ensures union fringe benefits compliance, manages reconciliations, audits, and cross‑functional coordination. Responsibilities Ensure all union fringe benefits are accurately set up and calculated in payroll systems. Reconcile fringe benefit accruals, payments, and general ledger entries. Prepare and post monthly journal entries for fringe benefits. Coordinate payroll adjustments with other Field Payroll teams, ensuring timely completion. Prepare monthly fringe reports and element register reports (401(k), health plans, supplemental benefits). Collaborate with Trust Funds and Local Unions to maintain accurate member data. Address complex reporting errors and amend fringe reports as needed. Assist auditors with compliance audits and respond to audit mail requests. Support labor statistics reporting and survey requirements. Prepare pension footnotes for financial statements and annual pension contribution reports. Identify process improvement and automation opportunities. Work with IT on union benefits reporting issues and system enhancements. Help train Field Payroll CBA Specialist 1 and 2 on their assigned tasks. Respond to complex trust funds, union, and employee inquiries, escalating when necessary. Provide support on fringe reports, reviewing incoming mail, new‑hire setup, and VOE requests. Make deduction and refund adjustments for under‑ or over‑payments. Update Rate Grids and communicate all CBA agreement changes to impacted parties. Prepare SOPs and other documentation to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Qualifications & Experience Advance knowledge of payroll and union fringe requirements. Ability to independently follow procedures and policies. Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude. Ability to mentor others and share expertise. Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5 to 7 years of progressive union payroll or benefits experience. Advanced knowledge of CBAs, fringe benefits, and multi‑union environments. In‑depth experience with multi‑state union payrolls. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Exposure to payroll systems preferred; Oracle Fusion is a plus. Travel Travel up to 5% of time. Working Conditions General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
