Accounting Manager, Real Estate (HYBRID)

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Accounting Manager, to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $135,000 to $145,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the real estate accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions for all properties in the portfolio.
• Read and interpret complex lease agreements to determine tenant chargebacks and ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Provide accounting support to Property Management, Real Estate Development, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and other departments, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in managing the monthly close process and review of quarterly and annual financial reporting packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Show proficiency in Yardi Voyager across multiple modules (GL Manager, Cash Management, Budgeting, CAM, Administration, etc.).
• Possess advanced Excel skills, with experience in financial modeling and analysis being a plus.
• Manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with CPA certification strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of real estate accounting experience, with at least 2+ years of prior people management experience.
• Demonstrate a strong public accounting background (Big 4 or mid-tier firm preferred), with experience auditing or preparing financial statements for real estate management or development clients.
• Have experience in preparing financial reports for lenders, ensuring compliance with loan agreements and financial covenants.
• Possess strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles, including CAM reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and 1031 exchanges.
