Labor & Delivery RN (L&D) – Night Shift

Shift Information

• Primary Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Schedule: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years L&D RN experience required
• Strong ability to independently manage:
  • Laboring patients
  • Maternal/fetal assessments
  • Postpartum care coordination
• Must be comfortable with patient & family-centered care model (Swanson Care Framework)

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• Active Kentucky RN License (required at time of submission)

EMR

• EPIC experience required

Core Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maternal assessments and reassessments
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond to changes promptly
• Provide education to patients and families throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning
• Support safe, evidence-based clinical decision-making
• Delegate appropriately to licensed and unlicensed staff
• Act as mentor/preceptor and promote teamwork within the unit
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
