Position Overview

• Emergency Department coverage as a Nurse Practitioner
• VMS managed locum tenens assignment

Required Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner
• Graduate degree from an accredited nursing program
• Active unrestricted Illinois NP license
• Illinois controlled substance registration
• DEA with Illinois address and schedules II, IIN, III, IIIN, IV, V
• Board certification: ANCC or AANP or equivalent approved by Illinois board
• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS
• Recent clinical activity within the past year. New graduates accepted with waiver.
• Case logs for the past 24 months
• Collaborative agreement with a physician in good standing

Credentialing and Onboarding

• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 61 to 90 days
• Immunization and screening requirements include influenza, Tdap, TB, Varicella, Hep B, and MMR
• Respirator fit test
• Required training includes emergency pediatrics annually, NIH Stroke Scale, workplace violence, sexual assault transfer and treatment, patient rights, opioid and chronic pain management, maternal hypertension, maternal hemorrhage, antibiotic stewardship attestation
