Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Varied shifts available including 8-, 10-, and 12-hour options; primarily day/evening; current opening is 11-11 (mid shift). No self-scheduling for travelers; block scheduling considered if it meets unit needs. Varied start times including 7:00–5:30, 7:00–3:00, 9:00–5:00, 11:00–7:00, and 3:00–11:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate and/or scrub (scrubbing is a plus but not required) across a high-volume OR environment averaging 35–45 cases per day across 9 ORs, one procedure room, and one hybrid room.
• Support a broad range of surgical specialties including general, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics, robotics (da Vinci and Rosa), neuro-spine, vascular, podiatry, sports medicine, and trauma; all surgical cases except CVOR and L&D/C-sections.
• Must be comfortable passing robotic arms in and out for da Vinci and Rosa robotic cases.
• Evening and night shift RNs function as the sole RN on the unit alongside two surgical techs; must be fully independent and comfortable across all service lines.
• Participate in on-call rotation: one weeknight on-call (7p–7a) per rotation cycle, one weekend 24-hour on-call (7a–7p) per month, and holiday rotation as needed; call response time is 30 minutes.
• May float to outpatient surgery as needed; OR staff are responsible for room turnover.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with 2–3 years of Operating Room experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2–3 prior travel assignments required.
• Orthopedic OR experience required.
• Hands-on robotic experience required — must have experience passing robotic arms in and out.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required.
• Evening, night, and 3–11 shift candidates must have experience across all OR service lines.
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred.
• Scrubbing experience preferred.
• Comfort with neuro-spine cases including burr holes, VP shunts, ventriculostomies, laminectomies, discectomies, fusions, TLIF, and ALIF preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train or refresh skills in a specific service line for day-shift candidates with strong but narrower OR backgrounds.
