Chop Saw Operator

We are seeking a precise, safety-conscious Chop Saw Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for measuring and cutting stock blocks of window blinds (including faux wood, real wood, aluminum, and composite materials) to exact customer specifications using a miter/chop saw.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent tape measure reading skills, and experience operating power tools safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure & Prepare Materials: Read and interpret daily production work orders, cut sheets, and custom specifications. Accurately measure blind blocks down to 1/16" (or 1/32") using manual or digital measuring tools.

• Saw Operation: Safely operate dual-mitre or manual chop saws to cut valances, headrails, bottom rails, and slat blocks to exact target lengths.

• Quality Assurance: Inspect cut materials for precision, clean edges, straightness, and lack of burrs or chipping. Reject defective stock before it moves down the assembly line.

• Machine Maintenance: Perform routine daily maintenance on tools, including clearing dust and debris, checking blade sharpness, and assisting with blade changes.

• Safety & Cleanliness: Strictly follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety standards, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.

• Material Handling: Move, stack, and stage uncut blind stock and finished cut pieces efficiently to keep the production workflow smooth.

salary: $31,200 - $31,201 per year
