LPN/LVN School Trach - Extension Req

The LPN/LVN Tracheostomy School Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, student-centered nursing care within the school environment. This role involves applying the nursing process to support students with tracheostomies and other complex medical needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the school day.

The nurse will provide care in alignment with physician orders, school district protocols, and Amergis Healthcare’s standards, policies, and values. This position requires clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse in state(s) where practicing

• One year of School Nursing/Pediatric experience, preferred

• At least one year of recent tracheostomy experience is required, unless approved by Amergis Clinical Designee

• Completes tracheostomy competencies successfully

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
