ELEVATOR INSPECTOR I - OAHU

Position Summary Full‑time Elevator Inspector I position located on Oahu. The role involves safety inspections, testing, and accident investigations for elevators and related equipment. Responsibilities Receive training in safety laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to inspected equipment. Assist a senior inspector on inspections, learning inspection and accident investigation methods. Perform progressively responsible inspection activities as competence is gained. Inspect or test elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, moving walkways, and lifting equipment. Investigate accidents or incidents involving such equipment. Minimum Qualification Requirements Legal authorization to work: citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the U.S., or eligible under federal law. Knowledge of English, mathematics, basic electrical and electronic principles, mechanical principles, elevator industry terminology, and equipment types. Ability to read and interpret laws, codes, and diagrams; prepare simple reports; perform basic math calculations. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as an elevator mechanic (including apprenticeship) or equivalent college coursework and experience as listed. Valid driver’s license is required. Experience with inspection or testing of elevators and related equipment. Preferred/Certification Certification as an elevator inspector by the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities (NAESA) or another ASME accredited organization.
