Elementary School Cashier

The Elementary School Cashier is responsible for handling daily financial transactions, primarily in the school cafeteria and for student activities. This role involves collecting payments, maintaining financial records, and providing excellent customer service to students, parents, and staff while ensuring compliance with school policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cafeteria Payments: Collect and process payments for student meals, snacks, and beverages.
• Student Account Management: Assist parents and guardians with setting up and maintaining student meal accounts, ensuring balances are updated.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of transactions, receipts, and financial reports.
• Cash Handling & Reconciliation: Count, verify, and reconcile cash, checks, and electronic payments daily.
• Customer Assistance: Help young students understand payment processes, provide receipts, and assist parents with inquiries.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit daily cash reports to the school administration.
• Compliance & Security: Follow school financial policies and ensure secure handling of money.
• Administrative Support: Assist with clerical duties, such as filing, answering inquiries, and supporting school fundraisers or events.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in cash handling or customer service (preferred).
• Basic math and accounting skills.
• Proficiency in using computers, financial software, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Friendly, patient, and able to work well with young children.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow school policies.

Pay Rate: $16.76/hour
