Job Summary

Newco is seeking a reliable and motivated General Helper to assist our welding and fabrication team. In this hands-on role, you will prepare materials, organize tools and equipment, position parts, and help keep production running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work and follows instructions. Previous experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Assist welders and fabricators with daily production tasks
• Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal
• Move, position, and secure parts for welding
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely
• Maintain tools, equipment, and an organized work area
• Load and unload materials as needed
• Inspect materials and report defects or safety concerns
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE
• Perform other shop or job-site duties as assigned
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous construction, manufacturing, welding, or shop experience is helpful but not required
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to [50–75] pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift
• Willingness to work around heat, sparks, noise, and industrial equipment
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
• Strong attention to safety and quality
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
