About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Tech Profession: Sterile Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 9 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 1 year License: Not required Certifications: BLS, CBSPD, Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Must-Have: 1 year of SPD experience, utilizing ultrasonic, decon, assembly, VPRO Description: The role involves working in the sterile processing department. Duties include assembly, decontamination, and sterilization. Familiarity with common cases such as orthopedic, spine, robotic, general, urology, gynecology, and ENT is required. Experience with typical OR instrumentation is essential. The position requires availability for call every 7-8 weeks, with a total of 48 hours on call (24 hours on Saturday and 24 hours on Sunday). Shifts consist of four 10-hour evening shifts from 1300 to 2330. Self-scheduling is permitted for shifts. Call response time is expected to be 30 minutes. Uniform color is blue (ceil). Unit-specific orientation will be provided for new staff. There is a cancellation policy allowing the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC.
