Housekeeping Attendant

Job Description Responsibilities include managing all room assignments in an effective and efficient manner. This position ensures cleanliness in all of our guest rooms is met and exceeded. The fast pace of a room attendant requires organization skills and knowledge of housekeeping operations. One must be able to multitask and handle repetitive work on a day to day basis. Essential Job Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Support the Crowne Plaza hallmarks and standards. Must be highly responsible and reliable. Vacuum, dust, change linens and clean the bathroom according to standards and procedures. Notify supervisor when complete so rooms may be sold or occupied. Report needed repairs or unsafe condition of room to supervisor. Keep linen room locked; linen cart neat and organized to standards. Maintain security of equipment, keys, and supplies issued each day. Respond to housekeeping requests from guests or management in a timely, efficient manner. Report lost and found articles to supervisor. All other duties as required. Competencies Have the ability to connect and effectively communicate with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. One should have a sense of urgency. Have the ability to complete work accurately and in accordance with company standards. Balance the needs of the operation, administration and colleagues. One should have a faster than average work pace. Possess strong oral communication skills. One must be available for the demands of the business including nights, weekends and holidays. Education & Experience High School or equivalent preferred 1-2 years of hotel housekeeping experience preferred Have knowledge of hotel and housekeeping operations Work Environment This job operates on multiple floors of the hotel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. One will be subjected to wet floors, cleaning chemicals, and loud noises. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area among the guest floors. Travel This role may be scheduled to work at AJS Hotels sister properties, the Galt House and Embassy Suites - Downtown Louisville, in a similar capacity. Supervisory Responsibilities This role is not a supervisory position.
