Cardiovascular Sonographer 2

Overview Inova Fairfax Medical Campus - Adult Echo Lab is looking for a dedicated Cardiac Sonographer 2 to join our advanced echo imaging center with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, education, innovation, and research. The lab is nationally accredited through the InterSocietal Accreditation Commission and has over 22 sonographers and 25 physicians supporting award‑winning clinical programs. Perform IV contrast or other test‑enhancing solutions in accordance with Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography standards, ensuring rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and available during procedures. Identify patients and orders accurately to prevent mismatched studies, maintain active credential status, and attend at least 50% of QA conferences. Ensure patient safety through use of side rails, braking mechanisms, and monitoring; report and document any adverse, unsafe or unusual conditions as required. Maintain equipment by troubleshooting and reporting to biomedical engineering/vendor, and perform or recognize routine maintenance of echo vascular equipment to preserve image quality. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program or at least five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare setting. ARDMS Registered with RDCS certification or CCI Registered with RCS certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with RVS certification for Vascular. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. One year of experience after acquiring registry in a hospital/healthcare environment performing cardiac or vascular sonography.
