Operations Manager

Position Purpose The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate management of warehouse functions, including supervising drivers, loaders, and warehouse staff. The role oversees dispatch operations, inventory control, and customer service to facilitate prompt and precise delivery of products to job sites. Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of building materials in alignment with corporate standards. Manage and coordinate truck dispatch to guarantee timely and accurate deliveries to job sites, optimizing routes using SRS routing technology. Supervise loading and unloading processes, ensuring prompt handling of orders for vendors and customers while maintaining inventory accuracy. Implement and manage comprehensive inventory control, including purchasing, weekly cycle counts, pricing strategies, and evaluation of damaged or outdated stock. Lead and conduct safety audits and meetings to ensure full compliance with company safety standards. Oversee maintenance and operational readiness of all logistics equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts. Administer and track work hours for drivers and warehouse staff to ensure proper task allocation and compliance with labor regulations. Collaborate with the Branch Manager to support overall branch operations, including order processing, end‑of‑day balancing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Proficiency in local area navigation and efficient truck routing. Familiarity with ERP systems is beneficial. Extensive knowledge of logistics and supply chain management. Proficiency in advanced ERP systems. Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards. Industry‑specific expertise in the roofing sector. Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED (required). College coursework is advantageous. Preference for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Minimum 1–2 years of related experience and/or training in operations management, warehouse, distribution center, shipping, or receiving environments. Experience within the roofing industry is advantageous but not mandatory. Certifications Forklift Certification – Preferred. Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Preferred. Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Operations Manager (COM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are advantageous.
