Location Cheraw, SC. Duties Inspect product to determine compliance with order specifications and company's quality control system standards. Read litho department data sheets to assist with adherence to quality and communicate information to workers in these areas. Enter data into computer to confirm products are manufactured according to standard. Identify differences between established standards and worker products and suggest modifications to conform to standards. Determine if samples gathered from line conform to company standard. Visually inspect cans to ensure "out-of-spec" cans do not leave the building. Note reason for rejection on worksheet. Gather samples from the production lines in the assigned area or department at specific intervals throughout the shift. Report unresolved problems to supervisor orally and in writing. Write HFI’s on non-conforming products and recommend disposition of load to management. Shut down a production line if quality specifications cannot be achieved. Review quality problems with management. Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. Inspect test equipment to verify equipment functions according to standards. Read company specification manuals to secure such information as size and weight of product and verify results of quality tests versus company standards. Test and inspect products at various stages of production process using precision measuring devices and comply and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Calibrate weight, metal exposure and distribution gauges. Weigh metal body samples. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Generally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting. May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic. May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is frequently loud. Qualifications In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following: Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent experience. Competencies: Good oral and written communications skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability. Ability to understand and speak basic English.
