This position requires consistent availability, typically Monday through Friday on instructional days, in alignment with the school calendar. Additionally, the substitute is expected to attend all staff meetings and professional development opportunities. Plan and develop lesson plans and assessments designed to meet the needs of the students and courses assigned to teach. Meet and instruct assigned classes at the designated locations and times, following the lesson plans. Assist all school personnel in implementing district and school policies, rules, and regulations governing student conduct during school hours and related activities, including before and after school supervisory duties. Prepare for assigned classes as needed, ensuring the instructional objectives are met. Utilize appropriate media and instructional materials to support the goals of the instructional program. Maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive instructional environment for students' well-being. Establish and enforce standards of behavior consistent with district and school policies, ensuring fair and just implementation. Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Keep accurate, complete, and timely records as required by law, district, or school policies. Follow established communication channels for school-related matters in accordance with district or school policies. Demonstrate the ability to manage classroom situations effectively while respecting the dignity and worth of each individual. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the instructional program and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities. Job Expectations Work as assigned, following the school calendar and schedule (Monday-Friday). Complete all scheduled assignments as directed. Remain flexible and willing to take on additional duties beyond the original assignment when needed. Model professionalism in experience, attitude, and demeanor at all times. Participate in required training, including but not limited to bullying prevention, bloodborne pathogen safety, suicide prevention, and others as mandated. Communicate student progress following established procedures and policies. Submit student attendance in accordance with district policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. NHDOE Teacher Certification in one (1) educational area and one (1) year of relevant classroom experience preferred. Knowledge, Ability, and Skills Knowledge: Adheres to established laws, policies, rules, and regulations. Actively participates in building-level staff meetings. Engages in professional learning activities as requested. Communication: Communicates regularly and effectively with students, co-workers, parents/guardians, and the community. Follows confidentiality procedures regarding student information. Able to follow both oral and written directions/instructions. Capable of communicating effectively through both oral and written means. Ability: Demonstrates the ability to organize time effectively, work independently, and accomplish tasks. Able to interact effectively and tactfully with staff, students, and parents. Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information. Skills: Proficient in utilizing technology, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Supervision Received: Works under the direction of the Building Principal, Assistant Principal, or Administrator as assigned. Ethics and Conduct: Maintains high personal and professional ethics in all relationships. Follows proper channels when addressing matters related to student and professional relationships. Exercises discretion when handling confidential information. Adheres to professional practices in alignment with school and district policies regarding ethics and conduct, including but not limited to the NH DOE Code of Ethics and the NH DOE Code of Conduct. Work is performed in typical classroom conditions; the environment is moderately noisy and subject to frequent interruptions. Operates standard instructional equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines, telephone, and other devices. Communication occurs via phone, correspondence, and in person, typically involving information exchange on routine and semi-complex issues. Interacts daily with school personnel, students, teachers, and administrators.
