Southpaw Remodeling is seeking a dependable, organized, and hardworking Construction Field Technician to support our residential remodeling projects throughout the Sarasota, Bradenton, Anna Maria, and Longboat area.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities without needing to be constantly reminded . You should be the type of person who checks your schedule, plans your day, arrives on time, keeps the truck and trailer organized, notices when equipment needs attention, properly secures materials before leaving a vendor, communicates when there is a problem, and leaves a jobsite clean and organized. Because you will regularly drive a company vehicle, tow a 16-foot trailer, visit vendors, and work in our clients' homes, safety, professionalism, good judgment, and accountability are essential.

This is a hands-on position that combines construction support, material pickup and delivery, jobsite logistics, and responsibility for a company truck and 16-foot trailer .

The ideal candidate is experienced and confident driving and maneuvering a truck with a 16-foot trailer , can work independently, manages their own daily schedule well, and takes pride in keeping jobsites, vehicles, equipment, and materials organized and safe.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company truck while towing a 16-foot trailer throughout the Sarasota/Bradenton area.
• Pick up construction materials, supplies, tools, and equipment from vendors and deliver them to jobsites.
• Properly load, secure, transport, and unload construction materials and equipment.
• Safely back, park, maneuver, connect, and disconnect the truck and trailer.
• Perform daily safety inspections of the company truck and trailer.
• Monitor and promptly report maintenance needs, damage, safety concerns, and excessive wear and tear.
• Keep the company truck, trailer, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Prepare construction sites before work begins, including material staging, floor protection, dust protection, and general site setup.
• Perform construction cleanup and debris removal.
• Assist with small demolition projects and other light construction work.
• Maintain clean, safe, and professional jobsites.
• Independently manage your daily work schedule, assigned tasks, material pickups, and deliveries.
• Accurately track your daily time and work activities.
• Use scheduling software to review assignments, document work, upload photos/information, and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate with Project Managers and Superintendents regarding completed tasks, delays, material issues, vehicle concerns, or jobsite needs.
• Assist the field team with additional construction-related tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Previous experience driving a truck while towing a 16-foot trailer
• Must be confident backing, parking, maneuvering, connecting, and disconnecting a trailer
• Ability to safely load and secure materials for transportation
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Strong organization and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain and manage your own daily schedule
• Comfortable using a smartphone, apps, and construction software such as Buildertrend.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Professional when interacting with homeowners, vendors, subcontractors, and other members of the construction team
• Willing and able to perform physical work, construction cleanup, site preparation, and small demolition projects

Ø Construction or remodeling experience is strongly preferred.
