We’re looking for an Internal Medicine / Family Medicine / Specialist physician (MD/DO) with clinical research experience who wants to play a meaningful role in bringing that mission to life in Columbus, OH. As the Principal Investigator, you’ll provide clinical and medical guidance as the site establishes itself in the community and grows its research portfolio. Your experience, clinical judgment, and perspective will help shape the site’s success while giving you the opportunity to make an impact without the demands of a traditional full-time clinical practice. Experienced clinical operations, regulatory, quality, and research staff provide the infrastructure and day-to-day support needed to conduct successful trials. Grow with Alliance. As the site develops, this role provides an opportunity to establish yourself as a key physician leader within a growing clinical research network. What You'll Do Serve as the study physician and provide medical oversight for assigned clinical trials. Protect the safety, rights, and well-being of research participants throughout the study. Review and confirm participant eligibility and provide medical oversight of screening outcomes. Review adverse events (AEs), serious adverse events (SAEs), and participant safety trends. Perform or oversee study-specific medical assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, concomitant medications, and endpoint assessments. Provide clinical guidance and medical oversight to Sub-Investigators, Clinical Research Coordinators, RNs, and other site staff. Serve as a clinical resource for study-related medical questions and safety concerns. Collaborate with study sponsors, CROs, IRBs, and Alliance leadership throughout the life of each trial. Participate in Site Initiation Visits, monitoring visits, close-out activities, and other study meetings as needed. Review clinical data including laboratory results, ECGs, vital signs, and other study-specific assessments. Support timely safety reporting, medical documentation, and resolution of clinical data queries. Maintain compliance with study protocols, site SOPs, ICH-GCP, FDA regulations, and applicable Florida requirements. Contribute to a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and patient-centered research. A Schedule Designed Around Your Life Opportunity to transition into the role from your current work; starting at approximately 10 hours per week and moving to full-time No overnight call & rare urgent escalations Predictable research visits and structured protocols Focused interactions with study participants rather than a traditional high-volume clinic A dedicated research team managing day-to-day study coordination Training & Support Structured PI onboarding and mentorship Protocol-specific training Support from other experienced Principal Investigators Ongoing partnership with clinical operations, regulatory, and quality teams Established SOPs, templates, and documentation workflows Continued support throughout the life of your studies Requirements What We're Looking For MD or DO with a background in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or a Specialist Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license Prior clinical research experience in a Principal Investigator, Sub-Investigator, or other clinical research physician capacity is required Strong clinical judgment and commitment to participant safety Interest in clinical research and advancing medical innovation Comfort reviewing structured clinical data and study-specific medical information Strong communication, documentation, and confidentiality practices Familiarity with ICH-GCP and FDA clinical research regulations Board certification DEA registration, if required by applicable study protocols Build Something That Matters If you’re an Internal Medicine / Specialist physician looking for a way to stay engaged in medicine, contribute to the advancement of new therapies, and have a meaningful role in building something new - we’d love to talk with you.
