The Maintenance Supervisor position is a full-time salaried on-site position, reporting to the Plant Manager. It is responsible for ensuring the facility’s equipment, machinery, utilities and building systems are safe, reliable and available for production. Must have a thorough knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, planning and safety. The position will also oversee a team of maintenance technicians to include industrial mechanics and electricians. Will work collaboratively with Production and Engineering to maximize equipment output and longevity while minimizing impact to production.

The work schedule is to be determined but is generally Monday – Thursday, with occasional Fridays, nights, and weekends as required.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise maintenance personnel by assigning daily work orders, establishing priorities, monitoring completion, providing technical guidance and managing employee performance. Train and develop maintenance technicians (and operational personnel as required), resolve employee conflict and ensure engagement through effective leadership.
• Plan and schedule preventative maintenance for all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment (including basic industrial controls and automated PLC driven equipment). Will collaborate with Engineering and Production on the scheduling and completion of project work and reactive maintenance to determine priority repairs, coordinate resources, and minimize downtime.
• Support equipment installation and improvement projects through participation in installation, commissioning, relocation and upgrades. Coordinate with contractors and vendors when necessary.
• Must possess the technical knowledge and ability to install and align new and existing machinery using levels, squares, plumb bobs, straight-edges, feeler gauges, and other hand tools. Troubleshoot equipment by using experience, manuals, drawings, schematics, operating procedures, and common sense.
• Ensure departmental compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local workplace safety regulations. This includes knowledge of Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, hot-work procedures, and PPE requirements. Must maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with established housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Conduct routine observations of work areas and equipment to identify unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain maintenance records through a CMS system to effectively track repairs, PM completion, equipment history, labor and parts usage. Manage spare parts and supplies through the monitoring of critical inventory levels, purchasing of maintenance materials and replacement components and ensuring critical spare parts are maintained and available as needed.
• Maintain regulatory and inspection requirements for critical or high-risk equipment such as overhead cranes, hoists, pressure vessels, fire systems and other regulated equipment.
• Collect and analyze maintenance and machine performance data to improve the maintenance program. Participate in budgetary and cost management activities to ensure responsible spending.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting overall production goals and facility success.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• 5-7 years’ experience in industrial maintenance with 2-3 years’ experience supervising or leading maintenance technicians.
• Working knowledge of industrial systems and equipment to include electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, welding and fabrication machinery. Strong understanding of manufacturing production processes, equipment utilization, workflow coordination, and quality control. Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Demonstrated ability to coach employees, address performance concerns, and maintain team accountability. This includes the ability to effectively resolve conflict, train/develop, and motivate team members through ongoing recognition and coaching.
