Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring circulating and scrubbing for C-sections and Epic experience.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• 1:6 patient ratio, with potential to be pulled to facilities with higher volumes
• Float requirement to up to two nearby hospitals within scope of practice, including the High-Risk Obstetric Unit (HROB)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Block scheduling is not permitted

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Experience circulating and scrubbing for C-sections required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must pass a Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing, with only two attempts allowed on a PC (iOS devices not compatible)
• Must complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing
• Must be clean shaven for fit testing prior to working on the unit

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive Labor and Delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock response
• Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal heart rate monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
• Provide neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation support
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital
• Coverage required for one winter holiday and one summer holiday
• RTO must be submitted at time of profile submission; requests after submission will not be accepted, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of the assignment
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required with no exemptions
• Local rate applies to candidates living within 50 miles of the primary facility
