Job Description Summary
We have an opening for a Coordinator, Business Development, Securities and Capital Markets ("SECAP") in our New York office.

The Coordinator, Business Development supports and plays a key role in advancing Paul Hastings' business development and marketing initiatives across SECAP. The Coordinator, Business Development works closely with attorneys and global business development team members and focuses on producing high-quality pitches and RFP responses for a number of transaction types, including initial public offerings (IPOs) and investment-grade and high-yield debt. The position also supports strategic marketing and profile-raising activities such as awards and directory submissions, events and memberships, research and other marketing collateral that strengthen the firm's position as a market leader in SECAP. In this capacity, the Coordinator, Business Development will:
  • Work with attorneys and business development team members to draft and produce high-quality pitches, proposals and RFP responses;
  • Develop and maintain marketing materials, including practice descriptions, web content, attorney biographies and experience lists;
  • Coordinate submissions for legal directories, awards and rankings relevant to the firm's SECAP and other corporate practices;
  • Manage sponsorships and partnerships, ensuring the firm maximizes benefits and return on investment;
  • Maintain client targeting databases, including the Firm's IPO tracker;
  • Conduct research on clients, prospects and competitors to support meetings and cross-selling opportunities;
  • Collaborate with the events team and attorneys to plan and execute client events, seminars and webinars. Maintain key contact mailing lists;
  • Track deal flow and log experience in the Firm's matter-management database (Foundation);
  • Assist with client targeting;
  • Work with the marketing and communications teams on media relations, editorial projects, design and digital marketing initiatives;
  • Build knowledge of Firm practice areas to effectively support marketing strategies; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Proficiencies:
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, including attention to detail and proofreading;
  • Solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients in order to function at a strategic level;
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications;
  • Knowledge of technologies, developments, trends and literature related to legal and professional services marketing fields;
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite;
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking and relationship management;
  • Experience with CRM system (DealCloud) and matter-management system (Foundation) (preferred);
  • Proficiency in team building, management and leadership skills; and
  • Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in marketing, law or business (required);
  • At least 2 years of marketing professional experience (preferred); and
  • Experience supporting a corporate group at a law firm (preferred).
The salary wage range for New York that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $64,000 and a maximum of $79,500 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
