About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Product & Engineering to take on a pivotal, hands-on role that encompasses both functions. This is a builder's position, demanding a leader who is as comfortable engaging with customers and shaping the product roadmap as they are leading and growing engineering teams. The successful candidate will be at the intersection of product and engineering, with a strong focus on a product-first mindset, engineering leadership instincts, operational discipline, and an innovative vision. A key aspect of the role is the integration of AI, and the VP will be responsible for setting the standard for the team's use of AI tools in the context of a mission-critical platform. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in senior technology leadership roles, with a proven track record in product management, engineering, and operational excellence. The role requires a leader with strong system architecture instincts, the ability to make strategic build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions, and experience in a fast-paced, remote, early-stage environment. A background in distributed energy, electricity markets, or related industries is preferred, as is experience with hardware/software co-development and a technical degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, technology and energy enthusiast, with a deep understanding of where AI can be effectively integrated into a platform.
