Rebar Estimator

Role Description

• Evaluate proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to understand the project as a whole.
• Perform quantity take-offs for reinforcing steel, wire mesh, and accessories.
• Prepare quotations for distribution to the customers.
• Review contract drawings and specifications for all requirements on a project.
• Maintain a record of all estimating in current estimating log.
• Customer communications regarding requirements, as needed.
• Follow up with clients on submitted proposal and budgets.
• Must adhere to safety programs and standards.
• Ability to express ideas and thoughts both in written and verbal forms in a clear and respectful manner.
• Must be able to communicate to customers and co-workers in a clear and concise manner.
• Working knowledge of estimating math skills and reasoning ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables.
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail along with the ability to organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
• Ability to recognize new business opportunities.
• Possess experience in relationship building, account maintenance, and outbound sales.
• Self-starter, organized and driven.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years construction estimating experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed with an understanding of fundamentals in estimating and project controls.
• Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.
• Fundamental understanding of construction phasing and organization of building components.
• Good time management skills.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as part of a team.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks, including applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience using Bluebeam.
