Now Hiring: Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic | F/A-18 Depot-Level Repair | Kiln, MS
We're hiring an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic for a permanent, direct-hire position supporting F/A-18 depot-level repair at Stennis Space Center in Kiln, Mississippi.
F-18 experience is preferred. If you've done structural repair on other fighter or military airframes, we want to hear from you.
What you'll do
- Disassemble, repair, modify, and reassemble aircraft structures including bulkheads, spars, wings, flaps, pylons, fuselage sections, skins, ribs, and fuel tanks
- Evaluate structural damage and develop patterns for fabrication
- Work with aluminum, stainless steel, magnesium, copper, and honeycomb
- Rivet, bolt, drill, and fasten to critical tolerances and strength standards
- Use precision measuring tools including calipers, protractors, dial gauges, and sine bars
What we're looking for
- 4+ years of aircraft sheet metal or structures experience (Aircraft Mechanic II level)
- Military fixed-wing or heavy structures background preferred (Navy AM, USMC structures, or civilian equivalent)
- Active Secret clearance, or eligibility to obtain one
- U.S. citizenship
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a hands-on skills certification exam
- A&P license is a plus but not required
