About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Healthcare Specialty: Computed Tomography (CT) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: First Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Friday - Sunday) Experience: Minimum 0 years License: Current license through the Board of Medical Imaging and Clienttion Therapy Certifications: BLS; ARRT registered or registry eligible Must-Have: - Strong knowledge of CT imaging principles, techniques, and equipment operation. - Proficiency in CT scanning protocols, image acquisition, and post-processing techniques. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and quality improvement. - Ability to accept responsibility for actions and meet performance expectations. - Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to collaborate and respect all coworkers. - Strong customer service skills. Description: Perform computed tomography (CT) scans on patients using specialized imaging equipment. Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. Interact directly with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Ensure accurate imaging studies and high-quality patient care. Greet and assist patients, explaining the CT scanning procedure. Address any concerns or questions they may have. Verify patient identity, medical history, and physician orders. Position patients comfortably on the CT scanner table. Immobilize body parts as necessary to obtain clear images. Provide education and instruction to patients regarding CT scanning procedures. Operate CT scanner equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images. Adjust scanning parameters such as slice thickness and exposure settings. Monitor patients during scanning procedures for any adverse reactions. Review CT images for quality, ensuring proper positioning and absence of artifacts. Perform basic image processing techniques to enhance visualization of anatomical structures. Assist radiologists and physicians in image interpretation. Offer guidance and support to colleagues regarding CT imaging techniques. Participate in the orientation of new staff members. Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles. Maintain knowledge of safety procedures and emergency protocols. Ensure proper documentation of CT scanning procedures and patient assessments. Perform daily equipment checks and quality control tests. Collaborate with engineers and service technicians for equipment maintenance. Participate in quality assurance activities, including image quality assessments.
