Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact supporting students with vision disabilities as a dedicated professional in a contract position spanning the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity involves working across 2-3 education centers in a diverse, dynamic setting near Saint Paul, MN, supporting caseloads ranging from 25 to 30 students. The role primarily focuses on students with visual impairments, many of whom may also have secondary or tertiary disabilities, including behavioral or physical challenges in a setting 4 district renowned for specialized services.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment (TVI)
• Experience or strong interest in supporting students with severe behavioral and physical disabilities
• Flexibility to work in multiple school buildings (2-3 sites within a region)
• Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for inclusive education
• Previous work in a school or similar environment supporting students with disabilities highly desirable
• Willingness to travel between locations as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and adapt instructional materials to ensure accessibility for visually impaired students
• Provide direct and consultative services to students aged 5–21
• Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Support students with additional behavioral and/or physical challenges, promoting independence
• Maintain organized documentation and progress reports
• Engage in team meetings and professional development

This contract position runs from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek. You’ll be working within specialized education centers designed to meet the needs of students with a range of disabilities, offering both variety and meaningful impact in your day-to-day work.
