Summary of Position:
The Buyer is responsible for timely, efficient, ethical, and cost-effective negotiation and purchasing of commodities as required. The role requires constant engagement with suppliers to drive supplier performance to meet demand requirements through our ERP system. resolve Supplier quality issues and work closely with Production, Engineering and Accounting.
Responsibilities:
· Review and acts upon daily action messages generated from our ERP system.
· Responsible for managing supplier base.
· Sourcing new Suppliers based on current and future demands.
· Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability and capability.
· Expediently resolve quality issues.
· Cost reduction.
· Maintain pricing histories and other vendor records.
· Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
· Minimum 3 years related experience required and bachelor's degree preferred.
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel.
· Experience in usage of ERP systems.
