Food Service WorkerThe Food Service Worker serves and monitors the distribution of meals, and ensures that guidelines for special diets are followed. Prepares dining areas for the serving of meals and sets up serving lines. Cleans dining, service, and food preparation areas. The incumbent will carry-out her/his duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of SABHH. The incumbent will have knowledge of health care sanitation and have demonstrated ability to interact, relate to, work with, and support the activities of a diverse workforce.Essential Duties:Practice appropriate hygienic practicesRecord warmer & cooler temperatures first thing and turn on small warmersSet breakfast line: Cereal dispensers & bowls, Jelly or syrup, ketchup, and butterOpen milk coolerReassemble and stock juice machineRestock plastic ware, foam plates, bowls & cupsCheck Ice dispenserMake 8 coffee dispensers. (Ensure outside is clean)Stock sanitizer bucket & turn on salad barServe breakfast, Clean as you workBreak down line after serving, Scrub line, rinse & sanitize. Wipe dining room tables, spot sweep both dining room and line, remove trash from drainRestock supplies, place appropriate condiments in front of the lineEnsure salad has 9-10 items utensils & sweeteners. Sandwiches, utensils & LemonadeServes mealsAfter lunch break down line and return salad bar to prep personWash, rinse and sanitize salad barPull 2:00 pm or 8 pm snacksStores chemicals away from food and other food-related suppliesKeeps food stored in proper containersClears area of debris, and keeps area cleanDemonstrates personal responsibility for maintaining safe and sanitary conditionsUnderstands basic principles of food service sanitationFollows procedures to prevent bacterial food poisoningFollows the principles of personal hygieneStores cleaning cloths in sanitizing solutionSupports team where neededHandles, stores, labels, and rotates all products properly and in accordance to applicable state lawsMust be able to work independently, in a result restricted physical environment for extended periods of timeMust be able to assist in preparing, serving, and storing foodCleans work area as necessary or assignedPerforms other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or Dietary ManagerThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
